Wonderful places to visit within easy reach of Little Langford Farmhouse
Little Langford farmhouse is an ideal location from which to explore many of the delightful towns, cities and attractions of Wiltshire and the South and the West Country. Here is just a small selection of nearby places. Click here for a more detailed (but by no means exclusive) list of towns, cities and other attractions.

There are many places nearby that are worthy of a visit. We have 2 beautiful cathedral cities within easy reach.  Salisbury, just 7 miles away, home to the tallest cathedral spire in the UK and one of the 4 remaining copies of the Magna Carta, a document dating from 1215 that established an important constitutional principle, namely that the power of the king could be limited by a written grant.

Bath, just an easy drive away is a World Heritage site with beautiful countryside surrounding it's unique mixture of architecture. From the famous Roman Baths to the stunning Royal Crescent and from the Theatre Royal (one of the oldest working theatres in the country) to the wide range of shops and museums there is something for everyone.

Salisbury Cathedral
One of the UK's finest stately homes, Wilton House is a few miles to the west of Salisbury. Built over 450 years ago, you will be able to experience living history at it's very best, and the nearby Wilton Shopping Village has something to offer every taste. Heale House (Sting's neighbour) with it's beautiful gardens and garden centre is also worth a visit. To see an outstanding example of the English landscape style, why not visit

Stourhead. Laid out in 1741 around a central lake and classical temples, the gardens compliment the 1720s mansion house, home to the Hoare family, owners of Britain's only surviving independent bank.

Stonehenge, ancient stone circle

No visit to the South of England should be contemplated without allowing time to visit some of the oldest historical sites known to man. The world famous ancient stone circle of Stonehenge is just a stone's throw away, with the even older stone circle of Avebury, the ancient English burial sites at Silbury Hill and West Kennet Longbarrow just a short drive away.

The historic market town of Marlborough lies a few more miles to the east and offers the widest High Street of any town in the UK and is home to a marvellous variety of speciality shops.

Also within easy reach is the
New Forest, although over 900 years old the New Forest offers a wide variety of scenery, unchanged since mediaeval times and let's not forget Longleat, possibly the finest example of Elizabethan architecture in England and home to a wonderful collection of Art, the famous Safari Park and beautiful gardens.
